Harry E. Porter

Harry E. Porter, 42, an Army veteran of World War II, died yesterday in Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since last October. Mr. Porter formerly lived at Hotel Plaza.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Rohde [sic.] & Dawley Funeral Home, Rev. C. W. Vandenbergh officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow night from 7 to 9.

He was born in Bellows Falls Dec. 20, 1917, a son of Phoebe (Bashaw) Porter, now of West Dummerston, and the late Frank E. Porter. Mr. Porter had worked for a number of trucking companies, including Gay’s Express, Inc., and H. P. Welch, and formerly lived in the Bellows Falls area. He was a member of the local aerie of Eagles.

Survivors besides his mother are one son, Harry E. of Bennington; three daughters, Louise A. and Mary E. of Putney and Laura R. of West Dummerston; one brother, Robert, of Keene, N. H., and a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Little of West Dummerston.
