Mary Jane Maxwell was daughter of George and Margaret (McDoual) Maxwell. She was born March 2, 1827 at Jackson, NY and died December 9, 1866. Burial was in Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge, New York. She married January 15, 1849 at Jackson, Oliver Selfridge.
