LAWRENCE, OZIAS, came to Walpole in 1813, from Franklin, Mass., where he was born, and settled on the place where Clement Dickey now resides. He married Mary Fisher, of Medway, Mass., and had children as follow: I. Polly, m. Calvin Messenger, of Grafton, Vt. II. Anson, b. in Franklin, Feb. 14, 1799; m. Sally, dau. of Ebenezer and Sally (Sheldon) Ash, and had ch. as follow: 1st, Mary S., b. Nov. 28, 1822; m. Lorenzo Dow Pressy, 1844, and has one son, Eugene E., m. Maria Mason, of Keene, and lives in town. 2d, Sarah L., b. June 30, 1826; d. young. 3d, George F., b. Dec. 5, 1827; m. Lydia Warren, of Lawrence, Mass., and resides in Worcester, Mass. 4th, William A.,b. Oct. 18, 1829; m. Emma Wells, of Portland, Me.; lives in Newtonville, Mass. 5th, Solon C., b. April 9, 1831; d. in Illinois, 1856. 6th, Lowell A., b. Feb. 16, 1834; d. 1850. 7th, Henry F., b. Sept. 16, 1837; m Amy E., dau. of Charles and Amy (Sherman) Watkins, Nov. 9, 1859. (See Ap.) 8th, Leonard W., b. Sept. 30, 1840; d. in the U. S. service at the hospital in Philadelphia, March 23, 1862. III. Fisher, b. 1806; m. at Claremont, N.H. He was a musician in the service of the United States when he died. Ozias [page 312] Lawrence d. Aug. 21, 1826; his wife d. March 29, 1852. Anson Lawrence d. March 25, 1864.
